Adding Spices and Flavours of Diversity

Low Food is a movement, set up by Joris Lohman, Joris Bijdendijk and Samuel Levie, that aims to create a bigger international appearance for Dutch cuisine. Their goal is to enrich our food system and take it to a higher level.

Their first symposium was a wonderful succes. Though there was one remark. A visitor wondered: if the Dutch food culture is celebrated for its culinary diversity, how come this doesn't consort with the human diversity of the event?

In answer to this question, Low Food organised a second edition about the influence of different processes and cultures on food. The leading question being: can a genuinely forward-thinking culinary movement exist if it doesn’t embrace and support human diversity?

Approach

During the symposium TwentieFour asked several speakers about their vision and hope for the future of food. These answers, together with the beautiful shots of the event, are collected in this film. Low Food uses this film to spread awareness about the richness of Dutch cuisine and the importance of diversity.
